Regulator Bookshop (Durham, N.C.)

The Regulator Bookshop records document events and other efforts undertaken to promote the store. This includes flyers for “author parties,” newspaper clippings covering events and store anniversaries, as well as photographs of the store, its staff and events. The collection also includes issues of Paperwork, a semi-regular newsletter for customers that includes book recommendations and information on new arrivals.

The collection is primarily composed of material from the Sallam Cultural Center. Documents represent the center's work in promoting the region's blues and jazz music, producing concerts, and club management. Material includes calendars, flyers, menus, recipes, correspondence, and a club floorplan. There are several Author Party flyers from the Regulator Bookshop, including one for Senator Al Gore.
