Biographical / Historical
Starting in 1888, The Durham Bobbin and Shuttle Company operated the Durham Bobbin and Shuttle Mill under the majority ownership of Julian Carr and Richard Wright. The mill first supplied wooden parts to other mills, but by 1891 it appears to have been producing textiles. Unsuccessful, the company was sold to Brodie Duke in 1892 for less than the face value of its shares.
