Biographical / Historical
When Richard H. Wright (1851-1929), a partner of W. Duke and Son Tobacco Company, visited a London tobacconist, he discovered the machine-made tobacco packaging by Rose Brothers, Engineers, of Gainsborough, England. This eventually led to exclusive rights for Wright to manufacture, distribute, sell, and lease the Rose Tobacco Packer machines in the United States, Canada, and Cuba.
