Mary Ann Black papers
The Mary Ann Black Papers include materials from Black's time with the Durham County Board of Commissioners and with the Duke University Health System, as well as some personal materials. The bulk of the materials date from 1990-2000. Many of the materials relate to the Durham public school merger in the early 1990s.
Blacknall family scrapbooks, ledgers and other materials
This collection consists of two scrapbooks created by Sadie Blacknall between 1875 and 1933 and two ledgers used in the office of her brother-in-law J. R. Blacknall, the first sheriff of Durham County.
Robert Blake photographs
This collection includes over 1,000 photographs taken by Blake between 1945 and 1998 for inspiration for his drawings and paintings. Most of the photographs are black and white and feature rural scenes in Durham County, particularly tobacco barns in various stages of decay. There are also photographs of locations around downtown Durham, as well as images of tobacco being harvested, prepared for curing, and sold at the Liberty Warehouse auctions.
Bobbin and Shuttle Company ledger
The collection consists of the Durham Bobbin and Shuttle Company Ledger, which contains invoices and statemenets that account for the purchase and sale of various supplies and machinery from 1888 to 1891. The purchases involve materials that supported the mill’s function, such as lumber, oil to lubricate machinery, and tools. Also included are statements regarding tax payments, lawyer fees, and travel expenditures.

A CD-ROM contains PDF files of depositions related to District Attorney for Durham County Michael B. Nifong's disciplinary hearing before the North Carolina State Bar.
Community Chest of Durham newspaper clippings
This collection includes newspaper clippings describing the activities of the organization. The Community Chest implemented fund drives to support agencies that served the community. It received donations from large corporate contributors as well as individual citizens.

Duke Protest Newspaper Clippings
Includes photocopied newspaper articles from The Duke Chronicle and The North Carolina Anvil primarily concerning race relations at Duke University from 1968 to 1970. The articles describe the overall tumultuous climate of student protests, riots, and boycotts. In particular, the articles report black students' demands for a Department of African-American studies and the resulting political fallout that culminated in black students occupying the Allen Building in 1969.
Durham Centennial scrapbook
The Durham Centennial 1953 Scrapbook, spanning from February 9, 1952 to March 2, 1955, includes newspaper clippings, a program and schedule of events, memorabilia, and meeting minutes from the Durham Centennial and Historical Commission. The celebration occurred April 26 through May 2, 1953 and included parades, a ball, performances, agricultural displays, and various other events.
