Frankie Perry scrapbook and other materials
The Frankie Perry scrapbook and other materials consist of a scrapbook created by Ms. Perry documenting her school years, 1953-1965. Materials from Lyon Park School, Whitted Junior High School, and Hillside High School include award programs, playbills, school portraits, and certificates that Perry earned. The collection also includes some loose photographs of a graduation and a debutante ball program from Whitted Junior High School in 1964.
Pocket Theatre records
The bulk of the collection documents the plays performed by Pocket Theatre in the late 1970s. Other topics include correspondence, special events, and scripts that may not have been performed by Pocket Theatre, primarily written by Rebecca Ranson. Materials include newspaper clippings, posters and flyers, press releases, set sketches, handwritten notes, photographs, negatives, and slides. Materials are arranged in alphabetical order within each series.
Yusuf Salim collection
This collection is primarily composed of promotional materials and newspaper articles related to Yusuf Salim, known as Brother Yusuf, a Durham resident and musician. Many of the items are related to 2004 and 2007 concerts in his honor. It also contains memorials and articles written about Brother Yusuf after his death in 2008, a few photographs, a vinyl record, and one chapter of a memoir Yusuf wrote.
